October Hits & Highlights | Merry & Bright

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things October Hits & Highlights challenge - the challenge was to use the word MERRY somewhere in the design.

I decided to go with my favourite colour palette of all (rainbow!) and create a clean and simple card with only a sentiment and no images. I love card designs like this that mainly focus on the greeting and the fun ways you can dress them up.

To create the card, I used the large Merry & Bright greeting from the Handwritten Holiday stamp set but I only stamped the '& bright' part so I could add some die cut letters for the rest of the greeting. The die cut letters were cut from the Little Letters alphabet and I used an asssortment of card stock colours to create a rainbow design.

I finshed the card by die cutting a small heart from the Blueprints 6 set and added it to the end of the sentiment and then I added the finished panel to a Limelight card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

MFT & Friends | October 2018

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the monthly MFT & Friends feature. I love this post each month because it lets us play with the new products, and we get to hang out with friends of MFT and create a long with them!

For my card today I couldn't resist using the new Trio of Trees stamp set again to create another colourful stamped card. I love the geometric look to this set and had a lot of fun coming up with the design for this one.

I started at the top left corner and stamped my Christmas trees in rainbow colours all over the card front. Once I was done with the colour stamping, I added the black trunk detail to some of the trees and also left some of them plain. I love that some of them are just colour without the black detail.

I stamped the sentiment onto a black card stock strip, and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and gave it a slanted edge, and then I adhered it directly over my Summer Splash tree.

I added the finished panel to a Summer Splash card base and then and I completed the card with some clear droplets on the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas from the team and some amazing MFT friends!

My Favorite Things October Release | Just Add Color

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things blog called Just Add Color post. The design team will be sharing cards and projects from the newest release that feature coloring in some way.

For my project today, I created a card with the awesome new Cool Christmas stamp set and had fun colouring the images from the set in bright vibrant colours! I then turned it into a winter wonderland!

I stamped all of the images, coloured them in with Copic markers and then die cut them all with the coordinating dies. I love this car full of snowmen... it is so fun and playful! Once I had all of the images coloured, I created the background with Peacock Feathers Distress ink and then added white acrylic paint mixed with water over top for the snow.

I die cut the Open Road die and coloured it in with Copic markers and then I also die cut two snow drifts and added everything to the inked panel. I also added the white acrylic paint over the images and road since the snow would be falling in front of everything and not just behind.

The sentiment is stamped on white card stock and die cut with the Hearts in a Row - Horizontal die and then adhered flat to the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! You can head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the new October release.

My Favorite Things October Release | New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the October Release New Product Launch! All of the new products we've been sharing for the past five days are available NOW at My Favorite Things! I love holiday and Christmas card making so this is always one of my favourite releases of the year!

For my card today I used the new Tweet Holidays stamp set and paired it with the Birdbath Die-namics to create an adorable outdoor holiday scene with a family of birds send holiday wishes.

I stamped and coloured the three birds and then I diecut them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped and die cut some holly so I could add it to the birdbath for a cute holiday accent.

The birdbath was die cut from white card stock and then I coloured it in with some grey Copic markers. I love to colour in white for die cut elements because it allows me to add shading and dimension with the markers.

I used some green Distress inks to create the winter sky and added white paint (mixed with water) to the background. I then added some Stitched Snow Drifts and stamped the sentiment right on the snow hill. I completed the card with some clear jewels and some white gel pen details.
Thanks so much for joining me for October release party! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the adorable new Happy Llamadays stamp set and combined it with the Fa la la Die-namics to create a bright and colourful holiday card.

I created the sky area with Distress inks, and then I added snow to the background with white acrylic paint mixed with water. Once it was dry, I added the two snow hills to the bottom that were diecut from the Stitched Snowdrifts Die-namics.

I die cut the Fa la la and adhered a portion of it to the background. I wanted room to add the llama, so I didn't adhere the last to la's in the second and third row. I stamped and coloured the llama with Copic markers and used colours that would match the background scene that I had created.

I adhered the llama onto the snow drifts, and I completed the card with a sentiment stamped on black card stock and some clear sequins sprinkled onto the card front.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you Tuesday for the release party!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Trio of Trees stamp set to create a colourful stamped holiday card. I love stamping multiple of one design to create a larger pattern, and this Christmas Tree was perfect for that.
I used my Misti to stamp the trees so I could line them up perfectly and I used Cotton Candy, Razzleberry, Wild Cherry, Limelight and Summer Splash to do the stamping. This tree has an additional stamp to stamp out the tree trunk, so I did that with black ink on all of them. I love the contrast of the black on the bright colours.

To complete the card, I stamped the Merry & Bright sentiment with black ink under the trees and added some clear droplets to the trees to look like lights.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 3 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set called Secret Santa and created a magical Christmas scene. I love this set so much and am so looking forward to using it on my holiday card designs.

I stamped all of the images onto white card stock with Extreme Black ink, and then I coloured them in with Copic markers. I tried to use similar colours on all of the images so everything would match nicely.

I created an inked panel to look like the night sky through the window opening, and then I added the panel with the die cut opening directly over top. The snow on the scene was created with white acrylic paint mixed with water.

I added the sentiment strip peeking out from the window and added some white gel pen details to some of the stamped elements. I completed the card by adding the panel to a red card base and adding a few clear sequins to the design.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Sassy Santa stamp set with the new Ho Ho Ho Die-namics to create a fun and playful design.

I first added Distress inks to a piece of white card stock, and then I cut the Ho Ho Ho from each of them so I could create a multi-coloured greeting. I stamped the rest of the sentiment (from the Sassy Santa stamp set) onto a strip of black card stock, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I stamped the Santa image with Extreme Black ink, coloured him in with Copic markers and then added him to the card standing on the sentiment strip. I finished the card with some clear sequins with Stardust Stickles in the center. It's hard to see in the photos, but I also added the glittery Stardust Stickles to the trim on Santa's hat and coat.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.
