My Favorite Things February Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome to the release of the newest card kit from My Favorite Things, called Beautiful Butterflies. This month's kit is absolutely gorgeous and includes two stamps sets, a die set, black embossing powder, a Versamark ink cube, two sheets of translucent vellum and a beautiful assortment of cardstock.

For my card today, I used the largest set of layering butterflies and created a unique design that only shows half of the butterflies bodies. I like how they kind of disappear off the side into the sparkle cardstock strip with the bold black and white pattern on the side.

I started with Limelight ink to stamp the bottom butterfly and then I stamped the next layer with Summer Splash and the final layer with Black Licorice ink. I used my Misti to do the stamping so I could just move the paper up and down but leave the placement the exact same against the side.

I added the stamped panel to a Grout Gray card base with the glitter and striped cardstocks and then I stamped the sentiment to the left of the butterflies with black ink. I finished the card with some clear sequins with Silver Stickles in the center.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more ideas using this kit and don't forget to get yours now in the MFT online store!! ;)

I never would have thought to only stamp half of the butterflies. This is a great design.

Simple & sweet, but the dissected butterflies freaked me out a little!

Where to start with my comments on your card. First of all, I love all the white space which is fantastic because the butterflies stamped as a border on just one side is the focal point of the card. And then, you throw in the striped patterned paper and the green butterflies jumped off the card front. WOW, and then add in just a touch of the silver sparkle paper and it just finishes your card off perfectly. WOW!! Love it.

Very cool you stamped the butterflies off the edge for almost a border look, that's just gorgeous! and the added accents are perfect to compliment the beautiful butterfly wings :)

I would never have thought to just stamp half the butterfly. Good thinking. Love the card.
