My Favorite Things October Release | New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the October Release New Product Launch! All of the new products we've been sharing for the past five days are available NOW at My Favorite Things! I love holiday and Christmas card making so this is always one of my favourite releases of the year!

For my card today I used the new Tweet Holidays stamp set and paired it with the Birdbath Die-namics to create an adorable outdoor holiday scene with a family of birds send holiday wishes.

I stamped and coloured the three birds and then I diecut them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped and die cut some holly so I could add it to the birdbath for a cute holiday accent.

The birdbath was die cut from white card stock and then I coloured it in with some grey Copic markers. I love to colour in white for die cut elements because it allows me to add shading and dimension with the markers.

I used some green Distress inks to create the winter sky and added white paint (mixed with water) to the background. I then added some Stitched Snow Drifts and stamped the sentiment right on the snow hill. I completed the card with some clear jewels and some white gel pen details.
Thanks so much for joining me for October release party! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the adorable new Happy Llamadays stamp set and combined it with the Fa la la Die-namics to create a bright and colourful holiday card.

I created the sky area with Distress inks, and then I added snow to the background with white acrylic paint mixed with water. Once it was dry, I added the two snow hills to the bottom that were diecut from the Stitched Snowdrifts Die-namics.

I die cut the Fa la la and adhered a portion of it to the background. I wanted room to add the llama, so I didn't adhere the last to la's in the second and third row. I stamped and coloured the llama with Copic markers and used colours that would match the background scene that I had created.

I adhered the llama onto the snow drifts, and I completed the card with a sentiment stamped on black card stock and some clear sequins sprinkled onto the card front.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you Tuesday for the release party!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Trio of Trees stamp set to create a colourful stamped holiday card. I love stamping multiple of one design to create a larger pattern, and this Christmas Tree was perfect for that.
I used my Misti to stamp the trees so I could line them up perfectly and I used Cotton Candy, Razzleberry, Wild Cherry, Limelight and Summer Splash to do the stamping. This tree has an additional stamp to stamp out the tree trunk, so I did that with black ink on all of them. I love the contrast of the black on the bright colours.

To complete the card, I stamped the Merry & Bright sentiment with black ink under the trees and added some clear droplets to the trees to look like lights.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 3 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set called Secret Santa and created a magical Christmas scene. I love this set so much and am so looking forward to using it on my holiday card designs.

I stamped all of the images onto white card stock with Extreme Black ink, and then I coloured them in with Copic markers. I tried to use similar colours on all of the images so everything would match nicely.

I created an inked panel to look like the night sky through the window opening, and then I added the panel with the die cut opening directly over top. The snow on the scene was created with white acrylic paint mixed with water.

I added the sentiment strip peeking out from the window and added some white gel pen details to some of the stamped elements. I completed the card by adding the panel to a red card base and adding a few clear sequins to the design.
Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things October Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things October Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on October 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Sassy Santa stamp set with the new Ho Ho Ho Die-namics to create a fun and playful design.

I first added Distress inks to a piece of white card stock, and then I cut the Ho Ho Ho from each of them so I could create a multi-coloured greeting. I stamped the rest of the sentiment (from the Sassy Santa stamp set) onto a strip of black card stock, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I stamped the Santa image with Extreme Black ink, coloured him in with Copic markers and then added him to the card standing on the sentiment strip. I finished the card with some clear sequins with Stardust Stickles in the center. It's hard to see in the photos, but I also added the glittery Stardust Stickles to the trim on Santa's hat and coat.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the October release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things September Card Kit Release

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things September card kit release party! The awesome new Filled with Joy card kit is available now at MFT Stamps! I love all of the fun elements in this month's kit and had so much fun creating with it!

For my card today I decided to create an ornament for the 'o' in the joy word but rather than use the actual ornament die, I decided to keep the 'o' in place and turn that into an ornament.

I die cut the word joy from white card stock and then used my Copic markers to colour them in. I created an ombre effect on them by keeping the bottoms darker and lightening them up towards the top and then I adhered them to my white card stock panel.

I added the ornament topper, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock to the top of the 'o' and added the ornament string as well.

To finish the card I stamped the rest of the sentiment onto a piece of black card stock, heat embossed with white embossing powder and then I added it to the panel under the die cut word.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the Filled with Joy card kit! Thanks so much for joining me for the release party! :)

MFT September Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back! Today is the second day of the countdown to the new My Favorite Things September card kit called Filled with Joy. I love holiday products and was so excited to start my holiday cardmaking with this kit! This new kit will be available on September 25th at 10am EDT.

For my cards today I wanted to create a shaker element in the center of the word Joy using the Circle Trio Shaker pouches that are included in the kit. To create a single shaker all you need to do is trim the circle trio apart into separate pieces - so you actually get enough pouches to create 30 shaker elements.

I wanted to create a Christmas Tree shape with my die cuts and stamping, so I turned the 'o' in joy into an ornament and layered the other elements around it. I'm sharing this card in today's MFTv video so head over to our YouTube channel (link in sidebar) if you want to check that out.

For my second card, I created a shaker element as well, but I completed changed up the design and stamped the Joy sentiment on the top and bottom of my panel and then added the die cut Joy word to the center.

I used the snowman head to cut a circle opening and added the shaker pouch inside and filled it with a fun winter mix of sequins. I wanted to add an additional sentiment, so I stamped it onto a black card stock strip, and then I adhered over the joy word at the top.

I wanted to keep the card somewhat monochromatic, so I added the finished panel to a Sno Cone card base to match one of my ink colours.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using this month's kit and join me back here tomorrow for the release party! Thanks for stopping by!
