Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for a new monthly feature on the My Favorite Things blog called Just Add Color. The design team will be sharing cards, stamped images, and projects from the newest release that feature coloring in some way.
For my card today I used the new Let's Flamingle stamp set with the Beach Scene Builder dies to create a fun colourful scene!
I added colour to the sand, water and sky with Distress inks and then I spritzed them with water to give them a distressed look. I love the texture it adds to the scene. The island and the palm tree were both coloured with Copic markers and for the flamingos, I used a mix of Copic markers and pencil crayons.
I coloured the majority of the flamingos first with my Copic markers and added some feathering detail on the bodies and wings and then I went over the feathering with my pencil crayons to really define it and make them look more realistic.
To link my flamingos together, I cut one of their necks in half - ouch right?! :) and then I weaved the other flamingo neck through the opening. I added all of the stamped elements to the card and finished it with a sentiment.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon with another post! :)
