Stitched with Love: St. Patrick's Day Edition

Hello! Today I have a card to share that I created with the new printable cross-stitch patterns from My Favorite Things that coordinate with their Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics. I love all of the new designs they release for the differnet occasions - it's so fun to use them with the tag to create stitched designs.

I decided to create a card design rather than use mine as a tag, so I die cut the interior part of the tag (the stitching holes) from silver sparkle card stock and then I stitched the rainbow pattern on top.

It's hard to see in the photo, but in between all of the stitching, you can see the silver sparkle shining through. I used the rainbow pattern and stitched it with thicker, single strand floss and then I layered a white card stock panel on top with a window die cut opening using the Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window

I stamped a sentiment from the Magical Unicorns stamp set under the window opening and I added some enamel hearts for even more pops of colour.

I completed the card by adding the finished oanel to a Summer Splsh card base. I love the bit of silver peeking out from behind the white card stock panel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I appreciate you being here!

The Birthday Project - Up, Up, and Away

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things February Birthday Project challenge. This is a new monthly challenge that started last month where we have a different challenge to create birthday cards each month.

As someone who struggles to make birthday cards for some reason, I love the creative push of the challenge and knowing that I'm getting some birthday cards made for my stash. :) For my card today I decided to stay with the distress ink and rainbow obsession I've had lately and create a big colourful balloon for the focal image.

I used the large round balloon from the Balloon STAX Die-namics and die cut it from a piece of card stock to create a mask, and then I used distress inks and the Drifts & Hills stencil to add the rainbow colour inside the balloon.

Once I had all of the colour added I used the Anything-but-Birthday Wishes stamp set and stamped the sentiment in the center with black ink. I also added a silver string hanging from the balloon with a bow tied at the base of the balloon.

You can see this months challenge and enter your projects for a chance to win at the MFT CHallenge Blog here. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wednesday Sketch Challenge #372

Hello and welcome back. Today I have a card to share for the newest Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I loved the simple design of this week's sketch and knew I wanted to stay pretty close in design with lot's of colour!

To create the colourful stripe, I masked off a section with post-it tape, and then I white heat embossed the Garden Flourish background just in the masked area. I then added colour in a rainbow pattern using distress inks and the Drifts and Hills stencil.

Once I had all of the colour added, I diecut the word Cheers from two pieces of white card stock, layered them on top of one another and adhered them to the card with a sentiment banner stamped with a birthday sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today's card - thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things February Release Replay

Hello and welcome back! Today the MFT design team is revisiting the February release with new cards and projects featuring the new products.

For my card, I used the new Magical Mandala Die-namics and created a rainbow of colour on it using distress inks.

I added a rainbow of ink to a panel with distress inks and the Cloud stencil and when I had it big enough, I diecut the Mandala shape from it. I love all of the fun colours I was able to get on the diecut by creating the colourful panel first.

I added the rainbow mandala to a white card stock panel and die cut it with a stitched rectangle before adhering it to a Grout Gray card base. I also added a sentiment on a sentiment banner using the From the Heart stamp set.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

My Favorite Things February New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things New Product Launch for the February release. All of the new products we've been sharing all week are now available in the MFT online store!

For my card tonight I used the Gift Card Window & Frame die once again (I love this thing!) and paired it with the Party Animals stamp set to create a fun birthday card with a gift card included.

I used a red Tim Horton's gift card that I had from Canada's 150th birthday celebration so it would match my card design LOL! and I die cut the opening for it into a panel I had diecut with the Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

I die cut the smallest Essential Sentiment Rip Strip Die-namics onto the inside of my Grout Gray card base, and then I adhered the panel with the gift card and pouch onto the front of the card base.

I stamped the cow image, and some additional balloons from the Party Animals stamp set coloured them with Copic markers, and then I die cut them with the coordinating dies. I adhered them onto the card front, layering some of them onto the gift card pouch for a fun dimensional design. I also added cloud detail the panel so it would look like they were floating through the clouds. :)

Thanks so much for joining me all week for the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and to shop for your favourites!

My Favorite Things February Release Countdown - Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 6th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I used the new Collage Cover-Up to create my background and then I added images from the Party Animals stamp set and sentiment using the new Hooray die.

I added ink to each of the interior pieces of the collage, and then I adhered them back into their openings on a white card base. I did the same ombre inking to the sentiment with red ink, and then I stacked it onto two more words that I had die cut to give it dimension.

I stamped, coloured and die cut images from the Party Animals stamp set, and I adhered them onto the card above and below the sentiment. I used thin foam adhesive behind the cow and chicken and added the pig directly onto the card.

I finished my card with some clear sequins with Stardust Stickles in the center and added some white gel pen detail to the balloons and animals faces.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 1 of the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tonight for the release!!

My Favorite Things February Release Countdown - Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 6th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I used the new Paw Prints Die-namics and a sentiment from the Canine Companions stamp set to create a rainbow pattern of paw prints.

To create the paw prints, I added different colours of Distress inks to watercolour paper, and then I die cut a paw print from each of the colours. I also cut out 8 stitched hexagons from white card stock so I could adhere a paw print to each one.

Once I had all of the paw prints glued onto the hexagons, I created a pattern on my white card panel and adhered them all on with my tape runner adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment onto the bottom right with black ink, and then I added some clear sequins with Sprinkled Sugar Stickle centers to complete the panel before adding it to a Grout Gray card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

My Favorite Things February Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 6th at 9pm EST.

For today's card, I have another gift card project, but this one is music related and features the new Jungle Vibes stamp set.

I created a fun, and colourful embossed resist background with the new Musical Notes Die-namics, and then I die cut the gift card window opening from the center. I added in an iTunes gift card and a bunch of sequins and beads to make it a gift card shaker and I adhered it inside the card, so the front opening stayed a window.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the fun zebra images, and I adhered them to the outside of the card along with the sentiment strip. Stay tuned to the MFT YouTube channel tomorrow - I'll be sharing a video showing how I created this card. :)

My Favorite Things February Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 6th at 9pm EST.

For my card today, I used the new Splendid Swans stamp set to create a clean and simple card with a starry circle element as the background.

I used the Starry Circle Die-namics to create the inked background, and then I layered it over a piece of Silver Sparkle card stock to make the stars glittery. I die cut a white panel using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 dies, and then I stamped, die cut and coloured my swans before adding them to the card.

I stamped the sentiment below the images with black ink, and I stamped the swans a second time so I could cut out their wings and layer them on top of the original swans for added dimension. To complete the card, I added the finished panel to a Grout Gray top-folding card base and added a few pink hearts to the starry sky.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things February Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 6th at 9pm EST.

I have two cards to share today using the new products. For my card today I used the new Wish Die-namics to create a stacked, dimensional sentiment with an embossed, rainbow inked background.

This card is also part of the new release class for February. Every month we offer five different card ideas with downloadable instructions, and a video and this will be one of them. :)

Stay tuned for this class to go live next week (we're changing it up and releasing them one each day thoughout the week after the release rather than all at once, to give you time to enjoy each one!) I can't wait to share how I created it - I love the rainbow stripe across the card front! :)

For my second card I used the awesome new Gift Card Window & Frame Die-namics along with the Gift Card Greetings stamp set to create a very gold and sparkly card design LOL!

I used one of my white Starbucks gift cards so it would blend in with the design and I created a gold sparkly coffee cup to adhere over top. I added a sentiment strip with a strip of vellum underneath, stamped with a greeting from the Guft Card Greetings stamp set.

To make the card even more glittery Ia dded a bunch of gold and silver sequins into the gift card pouch before I added the gift card and then I adhered it closed so everything would stay inside. I stamped the background with the Distressed Patterns stamp set so it would look like coffee splatter and adhered the whole panel to a Kraft card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!
