My Favorite Things September Release Countdown - Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on September 4th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Circle Trio Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics along with the Birdie Brown Greetings Galore stamp set and a new stamp set coming later this week called Woodland Friends

I diecut the circle frames vertically on my card stock panel and rather than use all three openings as shakers, I trimmed down the new CirlceShaker Pouches into individual pouches and just made the top and bottom openings shakers. For the center circle, I added an image from the Woodland Friends stamp set.

I added a sentiment strip on Milk Chocolate card stock over the bottom shaker window using the new Birdie Brown sentiment stamp set, and then I added some sequins onto the card front as well. I did add clouds using the Mini Cloud Edges stencil, and I added the completed panel to a Persimmon card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the September release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.
See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things September Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things September Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on September 4th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Friendly Raccoons stamp set along with the new Sassy Pants Best Friends stamp set to create a cute outdoor scene.

I created an outdoor scene with the Mini Cloud Edges stencil, the Grassy Fields Die-namics and the Birch Trees Die-namics for tree branches. I added leaves from the Friendly Raccoons stamp set to the tree branches and then I added two raccoons and the mushroom to the scene.

To complete the card I stamped the sentiment directly onto the grass and I added white gel pen detail to various elements on the design.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the September release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.
See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

MFT WSC 400

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest My Favorite Things sketch challenge. This week's sketch has. afun layout and I decided to create a magical scene in the clouds.

I first created a card stock panel with inked clouds using the Mini Cloud Edges stencil and then I die cut the panel into strips to replicate the pattern on the top of the sketch. I adhered them all flat to a card stock panel and then I added the panel to a Limelight card base.

I stamped and coloured my images from the Magical Unicorns stamp set and I adhered them all the the cloud covered strips with regular adhesive as well. The sentiment is stamped with black ink under the scene and I completed the card with a sparkly pink gem on the unicorn.

Thanks so much for joining me for my take on this week's sketch challenge. You can see more cards created by the design team and enter your card for a chance to win here!

For my card I decided to use a Wplus9 stamp set that I have had forever and never inked up. I love that the stamp set represents creativity and color - two of my favorite things! :)

I stamped a bunch of the paint tubes onto Hammermill card stock with MFT Extreme Black ink and then I coloured them all in with rainbow colours. I used Copic markers to do the colouring and then I fussy cut them all with my scissors.

I stamped the sentiment onto a 4" x 5 1/4" card stock panel and then I adhered the paint tubes all around it with liquid adhesive. For a bit of interest I added the aqua paint leaning against the sentiment.

I stamped the smaller words onto the paint tubes with black ink and I added a bit of shading under the aqua one with a grey marker. I completed the design with some color on the bottom half of the letters in the sentiment.

MFT WSC 399

Hello and welcome to a new sketch challenge from My Favorite Things!

I loved the layout of this week sketch and decided to add a vellum circle for the circle element that would provide a moon-like backdrop for some Halloween characters.

I created the Distress ink sky with Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire and blended all of the colours together to create an ombre look on the design. I then added the vellum circle and trimmed off the bottom so it wouldn't show beneath my sentiment strip.

I coloured three of the characters from the Frightfully Sweet stamp set and added them to the card over the vellum circle and the sentiment strip. I was easily able to hide the adhesive on the vellum behind the characters that I added to the card.

Thanks so much for joining me for my take on this week's sketch challenge. You can see more cards created by the design team and enter your card for a chance to win here!

My Favorite Things August Release | New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things August Release New Product Launch! All of the new August products we've been sharing all week are now available in the MFT online store!

For my cards tonight I used the new Puzzle Cover-Up Die-namics and created two fun designs using pieces from the puzzle. I love this die because you can cut out the entire puzzle from a photo or stamped panel and it actually all fits back together, so it's great for interactive gifts.

For my cards, I used pieces from the puzzle and paired them with sentiments from the A-maze-ing stamp set. To add colour to them, I used Distress inks and added the colour after I had die cut the pieces from white card stock.

I added them to both cards with foam adhesive for some added dimension and stamped the sentiments in black ink. I also added a die cut heart to each card that I die cut from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 collection.

You can see how I created these cards in this week's episode of MFTv (link in sidebar).

Make sure to head to MFT Stamps to shop for the new August products. I can't wait to see what everyone creates with this month's release!

My Favorite Things August Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things August Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on August 7th at 9pm EST.
For my card tonight I used the new Cute Cats stamp set and the new From All of Us stamp set to create a card from all the cats, perfect for all the cat lover's out there! ;)

I first stamped three of the same cat image, and then I coloured them all in with light grey Copic markers. I stamped three party hats from the Beary Happy Birthday stamp set and added one to each of the cats and then added a coordinating gem to the top.

I stamped the sentiment onto a white card stock panel with black ink and added the panel to a Razzle Berry card base. I added the cats (the middle one with foam adhesive), and I finished the card with some enamel hearts that match that colours I used on the hats.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 1 of the August release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.
See you tomorrow night for the release!

My Favorite Things August Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things August Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on August 7th at 9pm EST.

For my project tonight, I created a little flower pot with a rainbow collection of rolled roses inside. I created the roses with felt and the new Rolled Rose Die-namics and added in come card stock greenery using the new Grand Greenery Die-namics.

I created all of the roses with felt and adhered them together with a glue gun, and then I glued them into the little flower pot that I had filled with some grass filler. I started with the pink in the center and then added them in a circular order around the outside in rainbow order.

The leaves are die cut from Sour Apple card stock using the Grand Greenery dies and then I tucked them in between the flowers.

To complete my project, I added a little chalkboard sign (I picked these up at the Dollar store), and I used a white Sharpie marker to write on it and make it look like chalk. :)

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the August release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things August Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things August Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on August 7th at 9pm EST.
For my card tonight I used the new Dog-gone Awesome stamp set and created a little-framed area where I could feature one of the adorable dog images. I love this cute guy and his tilted little head. I thought it would be fun to add him inside a window opening and have his front legs hanging over the edge. :)

I added Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress inks to a card stock panel and layered it behind a white panel that I die cut with the Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window die. I lvoe the subtle stitched detail this window adds to the card front.

I diecut the word 'woof' from the Bottlecap Letters and added them to an Essential Speech Bubble die cut. I added it to the card with foam adhesive, and then I added a sentiment underneath from the stamp set.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 3 of the August release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things August Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things August Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on August 7th at 9pm EST.
For my card tonight I used the Captivating Mandala Die-namics and highlighted it on an ink blended background. I love our gorgeous range of mandala dies (and stamps and stencils) and this newest one might be my new favourite!

To create the background I used Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Inks and blended them together going from purple to pink. I really love this colour combo lately, and I usually have a hard time creating with purple so it;s been fun going a bit out of my comfort zone. ;)

Once I had the background blended, I trimmed it diagonally along the bottom and adhered it to a white top-folding card base. I then die cut the mandala and trimmed off one edge so it would have a straight edge that I could line up with the edge of the inked panel. I completed the card with a stamped sentiment from the new From Me to You stamp set and a strip of SIlver Sparkle card stock along the bottom.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the August release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things August Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things August Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on August 7th at 9pm EST.
And stay tuned to the MFT blog for the week following each release - we're bringing you even more inspiration and ideas using all of the new products!

For my cards tonight I played with the new Painted Poppies stamp set and created two stamped cards with different colouring mediums on the poppies. I love this stamp set and the possibilities with it by simply masking and layering the images.

I created two different designs with the flowers and stamped one on watercolor paper and one on No-Line Coloring Card Stock. I used Daniel Smith watercolours on the watercolour version and Copic markers on the coloured one. I wanted to show the contrast between the two colouring mediums and I love the variation between the two. :)

For the Copic version, I went with dark saturated reds for the center and faded out into some brighter reds on the edges of the flower petals. I love the shading and dimension I was able to achieve on this card and really think the pop of red looks great with the Blu Raspberry card base and the aqua dragonfly image (coming later this week!)

On the watercolour one, I went with softer shades of red and created less contrast by not going as dark in the shadow areas. I decided to leave this one with just the flowers and not add any additional images.

Since the reds were lighter on this one, I added this panel to a Summer Splash card base which is a little lighter and didn't overwhelm the beautiful flowers on the front. I decided not to add a sentiment to either card - I like the look of just the flowers as the focal images.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the August release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!
