MFT December Mid-Month Release!

Hello and welcome back. The new Good Time to Wine card kit and the Tweet Friends stamp set (and coordinating dies) are now available at MFT Stamps! I love all of these fun products and had so much fun creating my cards!

For my card today, I combined one of the adorable birds from Tweet Friends as well as a sentiment stamp, with the new Free with $60 called Mondo Cheers. I love this big script font and thought it would look cute to have one of the birds standing on top. :)

I added distress inks to a panel in rainbow colours, and then I die cut the Mondo Cheers from it. I adhered it to a white card stock panel that has some Peacock Feathers distress ink added to it, and then I added the cute bird and a few stamped music notes.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for the full reveal and more ideas using the new products.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

You Make My Good Times Great

Hello and welcome back! Today's card features the newest Stacey Yacula stamp set from My Favorite Things called Tweet Friends. This set has some adorable bird images that I couldn't wait to add colour to.

I decided to stamp three birds on my card, side-by-side, and colour to them with Copic markers. I love being able to step outside of the box and use fun bright colours that you wouldn't expect.

I stamped all of the birds in black ink using my Misti stamping tool so I could easily line them up and then I coloured them all in. I kept their bodies and beaks the same colour and then changed up the colours I used on their feathers and flowers.

To complete the card, I added a coordinating sparkle gem to each of the flowers, layered the stamped panel onto a Limelight card base and then I adhered it to a Summer Splash card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you tomorrow for the December mid-month release!

MFT December Card Kit Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome back! Today is the first day of the countdown to the new My Favorite Things December card kit called Good Time to Wine. I love the fun theme of this month's kit and can't wait to create even more with it. This new kit will be available on December 18th at 10am EST.

I created a trio of clean & simple cards using the kit and decided to just use the wine glass die without the shaker. I love that you can go more simple or go all out with different shaker elements.

To create my cards, I used card stock and the gold sparkle paper from the kit, and I also added in some vellum as well. I love the soft look of the vellum wine glass behind the gold sparkle sentiment.

I added clear sequins to each of the finished cards for added dimension and detail and also added glitter Stickles to the centers of each one for a little more sparkle and shine.

Stay tuned to the MFT YouTube channel tomorrow for a video sharing how I created this card set. :)

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for the full kit reveal and join me back here tomorrow for more peeks. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Color Challenge 107

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest MFT Color Challenge. This weeks colour combination includes some of my favourite colours to use during the holidays!

I recently created a tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas that featured a beautiful aqua poinsettia and I decided to use the same flower design on my card today with a couple of small changes.

I die cut and coloured the poinsettia with aqua and green markers and on this, one I coloured the center piece red rather than pink. I then layered everything together and added white paint on top for snow.  I finished the flower with a red sparkle gem and I adhered it to a white card stock panel that was layered onto Candy Land striped paper that perfectly matches this week's colour combination.

I added the finished panel to a red card base, stamped the sentiment in black in and added some clear droplets to the design to look lie drops of water.

Thanks so much for joining me today! Make sure to head over to the Challenge blog to see more card ideas using this week's colours and to enter your own for a chance to win.

My Favorite Things December Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things December Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on December 11 at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the Hello, Beautiful stamp set and Essential Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics, along with the new Brilliant Blooms stamp set to create a simple, but colourful floral design.

I stamped out two of the same flower image along with two of the leaf designs and coloured them all in with Copic markers. Pink, aqua and green is a favourite colour combination of mine, so I love being able to combine them on a card design.

Once I had them stamped and coloured I die cut them with the coordinating dies and adhered them to my card front. I then stamped the sentiment onto the sentiment strip and added it over the top with foam adhesive for some added dimension.

I finished the card by adding the finished panel to a Limelight card base and then I added some clear sequins with Stardust Stickles in the centers.

My Favorite Things December Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things December Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on December 11th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set Friends at First Sip along with the Boutique Die-namics to create a cute little coffee shop scene.

I first created the coffee shop by die-cutting all of the pieces and then I coloured them with Copic markers and adhered them all together. I stamped the sentiment in two parts on the window and then I added the dog and cut off the bottom of him to make it look like her was peeking out from inside the coffee shop.

I coloured the girl second and added some fun rainbow colours to her striped dress and then I assembled the scene onto the card stock panel. I love how these products work so well together.

My Favorite Things December Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things December Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on December 11th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Bold Beautiful Die-namics - I love this die and have so many ideas for using it! I decided to keep it simple today and use just the die cut portion that I cut from a panel of rainbow card stock.

To create the rainbow colours, I first added Distress inks to my panel and then I die cut the word from it. I carefully removed the framed word portion and I adhered it to a white card stock panel that measures 4" x 5 1/4".

I stamped a secondary from the Hello, Beautiful stamp set onto black card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then adhered it directly over the die cut word.

I adhered the finished panel to a Limelight card base and added a few clear droplets to complete the design.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the December release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

25 Days of Christmas Tags - 2018

Hello and welcome back. Today I am taking part in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags.

Once again, MCV is the proud sponsor for today's installment of The 25 Days of Christmas Tags which is hosted by the lovely and talented Tracey McNeely.

We've chosen a theme of Botanicals - trees, mistletoe, holly - any festive greenery works!

I used the My Favorite Things Poinsettia die and went with non-traditional colours. I love the mix of aqua, pink and green. To give it a more wintery feel, I added splatters of white acrylic paint for snow. I love how it looks against the flower petals and leaves.

Make sure to visit Tracey's blog to see more tags from today's sponsor and to enter the giveaway!

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things November Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on November 13 at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Get Well Soon Circle Frame Die-namics and paired it with one of the the adorable bear images from the Unbearably Cute stamp set. These little bears are so cute and I thought the worked perfectfor a get well card.
I die cut the Get Well Soon frame from white card stock and then I coloured half of it with Copic markers in rainbow colours, perfect to cheer up anyone's day! I then stamped a sentiment from the Unbearably Cute stamp set onto a sentiment banner and tucked it under the frame.

I stamped the bear with Extreme Black ink and did a bit of colouring on him with gray Copic markers. I didn't want him to have too much colour since I wanted the focus to stay on the sentiment.

I finished the card with an aqua enamel heart on the bears bum (how cute is that?!) and then I added the finished panel to a Blu Raspberry card base.

My Favorite Things November Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things November Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on November 13th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Frosty Friends stamp set to create a playful winter scene. I love anything snowman and fell in love with these guys as soon as I saw them - I love how festive and fun they are!

I created the background with Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover Distress inks and then I added water to give it a distressed look.  I stamped and coloured two of the snowmen and as I was adding them to the scene, I thought the guy with the lights kinda of looked like he was juggling LOL! So I went with it and added three presents above him. I love how it looks like the other one is watching him. :)

To complete the card, I stamped the Stay Cool sentiment with black ink onto a white sentiment strip and I added some clear sequins for some added dimension.

For my card today I used the new Birdie Brown stamp set Ready, Set, Snow stamp set along with the new Snowflake Window Die-namis. I love this snowflake die so much - stay tuned for a video Monday sharing more ways to use this awesome design.

To create this card I first created an inked rainbow panel using Distress inks and then I die cut the window from another white card stock panel and layered it on top so the rainbow colours would peek through.

I stamped the snowboarding bear from the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set with Extreme Black ink and coloured him in with Copic markers. I adhered him to the panel with some foam adhesive for added dimension.

October Hits & Highlights | Merry & Bright

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things October Hits & Highlights challenge - the challenge was to use the word MERRY somewhere in the design.

I decided to go with my favourite colour palette of all (rainbow!) and create a clean and simple card with only a sentiment and no images. I love card designs like this that mainly focus on the greeting and the fun ways you can dress them up.

To create the card, I used the large Merry & Bright greeting from the Handwritten Holiday stamp set but I only stamped the '& bright' part so I could add some die cut letters for the rest of the greeting. The die cut letters were cut from the Little Letters alphabet and I used an asssortment of card stock colours to create a rainbow design.

I finshed the card by die cutting a small heart from the Blueprints 6 set and added it to the end of the sentiment and then I added the finished panel to a Limelight card base.

MFT & Friends | October 2018

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the monthly MFT & Friends feature. I love this post each month because it lets us play with the new products, and we get to hang out with friends of MFT and create a long with them!

For my card today I couldn't resist using the new Trio of Trees stamp set again to create another colourful stamped card. I love the geometric look to this set and had a lot of fun coming up with the design for this one.

I started at the top left corner and stamped my Christmas trees in rainbow colours all over the card front. Once I was done with the colour stamping, I added the black trunk detail to some of the trees and also left some of them plain. I love that some of them are just colour without the black detail.

I stamped the sentiment onto a black card stock strip, and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and gave it a slanted edge, and then I adhered it directly over my Summer Splash tree.

I added the finished panel to a Summer Splash card base and then and I completed the card with some clear droplets on the card front.

My Favorite Things October Release | Just Add Color

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the My Favorite Things blog called Just Add Color post. The design team will be sharing cards and projects from the newest release that feature coloring in some way.

For my project today, I created a card with the awesome new Cool Christmas stamp set and had fun colouring the images from the set in bright vibrant colours! I then turned it into a winter wonderland!

I stamped all of the images, coloured them in with Copic markers and then die cut them all with the coordinating dies. I love this car full of snowmen... it is so fun and playful! Once I had all of the images coloured, I created the background with Peacock Feathers Distress ink and then added white acrylic paint mixed with water over top for the snow.

I die cut the Open Road die and coloured it in with Copic markers and then I also die cut two snow drifts and added everything to the inked panel. I also added the white acrylic paint over the images and road since the snow would be falling in front of everything and not just behind.

The sentiment is stamped on white card stock and die cut with the Hearts in a Row - Horizontal die and then adhered flat to the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! You can head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the new October release.
