MFT February Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things February Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on February 5th at 10am EST.

For my first card today I used the new City Block Die-namics to create a silhouetted scene with a colourful background.
I created the background by adding an assortment of Distress Inks in rainbow order on a white card stock panel. I then die cut the city from black card stock, and I left all of the little window pieces inside so it would look like the buildings were completely dark.

I then added some white enamel hearts to tie in with the sentiment that I used from the Rainbows & Unicorns stamp set.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the February release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!

My Favorite Things WSC 421

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest sketch challenge at the My Favorite Things Challenge blog. I decided to use the new Heart Art card kit for my card this week and used the Double the Love Die-namics to create a fun focal sentiment.
I added a strip of patterned paper to the side of the card using the Sweet Stack paper pad, and then I layered a Blu Raspberry panel over the top with a red scallop edge strip added beside it. I love how adding the red really makes the colours pop.

I then die cut the letters from card stock colours that coordinated, and also stamped and die cut one of the hearts from the Heart Art stamp set. I arranged them all kind of in a square formation and added a stamped sentiment strip as well.

Make sure to head over to the Challenge Blog to more inspiration using this week's sketch and to enter your own for a chance to win the weekly prize! Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT January Card Kit Release

Hello and welcome back. The new Heart Art Card Kit and the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set (and coordinating dies) are now available at My Favorite Things! I love all of the new products and had so much fun creating with them!

For my card today, I combined the card kit with the new Stacey Yacula stamp set to create a cute love-filled scene complete with a shaker balloon.
To create the card I first stamped the bear image onto a white card stock panel but I made sure not to ink up the top part of the balloon. I then used the new Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame die to die cut an opening at the top of the balloon. I added a shaker pouch (cut from the Heart Trio Shaker Pouches) and backed it with Wild Wisteria card stock that I had stamped with one of the hearts from the new Heart Art stamp set.

I added in some sequins to make it a shaker and then I added the panel to a Blu Raspberry card base. I completed the card by adding grass to the bottom, a pink sentiment strip and a collection of clouds that I stamped from the Cutieasaurus stamp set.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using these new products! Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT January Card Kit Countdown - Day 1

Hello and welcome back! Today is the second day of the countdown to the new My Favorite Things January card kit called Heart Art. This new kit will be available on January 22nd at 10am EST.

For today's card, I created a rainbow of stamped candy hearts - as soon as I saw the Heart Art stamp set in the kit, I really wanted to do some tone-on-tone stamping because I immediately thought of the candy conversational hearts when I saw it.

For this card, I used a rainbow selection of card stock colours and then pulled out the coordinating inks so I could stamp all of the hearts with the matching colour. There are 6 different heart stamps in the stamp set, so I was able to include all 6 of them on my card.

I adhered them all onto a white card stock panel and added that to a Razzle Berry card base. I completed the card with a stamped sentiment from the Sweet Celebrations stamp set onto a black card stock sentiment strip.

In addition to the rainbow version, I also made one that includes the colours that come in this month's kit. You can see the video sharing how I created it in today's MFTv episode.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for the full kit reveal and join me back here tomorrow for the release. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT January Card Kit Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome back! Today is the first day of the countdown to the new My Favorite Things January card kit called Heart Art. You guys! This kit is so so fun to create with! There are so many great products to mix and match and it's perfect for Valentine's Day. This new kit will be available on January 22nd at 10am EST.

For today's card, I used a bunch of new products along with the Sweet Stack paper pad, to create a love-themed card perfect for Valentine's Day.

I die cut the word love using the Double the Love dies, from multiple colours of card stock included in the kit and then I stamped one of the hearts from Heart Art to replace the 'o.' I die cut a panel of white card stock with the Scallop Basic Edges dies, and then I layered it onto a piece of striped paper from the Sweet Stack pad.

I stamped a sentiment from the Because You stamp set onto black card stock with versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder before die cutting it with a sentiment strip. I added the finished panel to a red card panel and then added it to a Wild Wisteria card base.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for the full kit reveal and join me back here tomorrow for more countdown fun. Thanks for stopping by!

MFT & Misti | We Have Serious Chemistry

Hello and welcome back! Today we have a fun post to share because we're not only featuring card making with My Favorite Things products, we're also showing some ways that we use the Misti to create our stamped cards.

One of my favourite things about the Misti is being able to use it to perfectly stamp an image in multiple positions on one panel. I used the new Cute Chemists stamp set, and even though the sizing is a little off for the scene I wanted to created, I decided to make it anyway. :)

So I wanted to stamp the beaker in two rows of three to make it look like they were sitting on a shelf. I went with six, so I could create a rainbow of colours on all of them, including the one the girl is holding. Stamping them perfectly lined up is really easy with the Misti.

Once you get the stamp positioned onto the Misti door, you just need to move the panel in the same increments each time you stamp it. I stamped the top row first and simply moved my panel along the edge of the panel to stamp them continuously in a row.

I then shifted the panel over to the right, and then I stamped the beakers exactly as I did in the first row, except this time I had the panel moved over, so they created a row underneath. So quick and easy once you decide where you want the stamping to be, and everything is lined up perfectly.

Once I had them all stamped, I added a line under them with a black marker, stamped the girl and then coloured everything in with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment using my Misti as well and then added the finished panel to a Blu Raspberry card base.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using MFT products with the Misti and for a chance to win some fun giveaways!

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 420

Hello and welcome back! It's time for the weekly sketch challenge at the MFT Challenge blog and I decided to create a colourful card featuring the new Rainbows and Unicorns stamp set. I love love love the sentiments in this set so I used one of my favourites and paired it with the rainbow and cloud image.

I added stripes of patterned paper from the Sweet Celebration paper pad to a white card stock panel and then I adhered that to a Limelight card base. I then stamped out my rainbow image and coloured it with Copic markers so it would coordinate with the colours on the patterened papers.

I then stamped the sentiment onto an Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strip, adhered it to the bottom strip and then I finished the card with some small heart enamel dots to go with the greeting.

Make sure to head over to the Challenge blog to see more inspiration from the team and to enter your card for this week's sketch!

MFT | Love Is In the Air

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a project to share that I created for the Love Is In the Air - a love-themed week over at the MFT blog sharing projects using the new January release.

For my project, I created a framed wall print and a coordinating greeting card using the new Hearts Entwined Die-namics.

This is a really easy project to create, and it's a perfect way to let friends and co/workers know your thinking of them not only during February but all year!

I die cut a bunch of the Hearts Entwined from white card stock and layered them on top of one another. For the top layer on both the card and the wall print, I created a rainbow design with Distress inks and then die cut the hearts so I would end up with a dimensional rainbow design. :)

I did create a video sharing the process for how I created this, so you can check that out over on the MFT YouTube channel.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog this week for more great ideas using our newest release.

MFT January Release | New Product Launch

Hello and welcome to the January Release New Product Launch! All of the new products we've been sharing for the past five days are available NOW at My Favorite Things!

For my card today I used the new Cute Chemists to create a Harry Potter inspired card - as soon as I saw this set that was the first thing I thought of!

I stamped out the boy chemist onto white card stock with Extreme Black ink, and then I coloured him in with Copic markers. I love that the stamp set includes a pair of glasses that you can stamp on either him or the girl (who could totally be Hermione). To make him look a little more like Harry Potter, I drew a little tie on him and made his shirt look like a sweater vest.

One I had him all stamped, I added a sentiment from the Magical Day stamp set (I wanted magic to be in the sentiment), and then I added the panel to a red card base. I also added some clear droplets to look like bubbles coming out of the beakers.

Thanks so much for joining me for January release launch! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 8th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Tweethearts stamp set to create a rainbow design with the small envelope stamp included in this set.

I stamped out six of the envelopes onto white card stock with Extreme Black ink and then I coloured them all in with Copic markers. I then cut them all out with scissors and adhered them to a white card stock panel that measures 4" x 5 1/4".

I stamped out the sentiment onto black card stock with Versamark ink and then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder before die cutting it with a banner from Hearts in a Row - Horizontal.

I finished the card by adding the finished panel to a Limelight card base measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 1 of the January release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 8th at 10am EST.

For my cards today I used the new Hearts Entwined Die-namics to create two cards from one panel.
I first created an inked rainbow panel by adding Distress inks to a white card stock panel and then I die cut the Hearts Entwined from the panel. I adhered the die cut one a white card stock panel and then added it to a Blu Raspberry card base.

For the second card, I die cut the Hearts Entwined again from a white piece of card stock and adhered it to a white card stock panel and then I added the centers back in from the rainbow one I had die cut.

I added the second panel to a Limelight card base, and then I stamped, and heat embossed a sentiment from Sweet Celebrations onto Black Licorice sentiment strips and added them to the finished cards.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the January release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 8th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Lots of Hearts stencil along with the Sassy Pants Love stamp set to create a bright, colourful card.

I first created the background by laying the stencil over a white card stock panel and then adding the Distress ink colours over top in rainbow order.  I then heat embossed the sentiment onto black card stock with white embossing powder and then I adhered it onto the card with foam adhesive with some white string under it for some added detail.

I finished the card by adding it to a black card base that measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 8th at 10am EST.

For my card today I used the new Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics and the Interactive Pull Tabs along with the new Cutieasaurus stamp set (stay tuned for this one later this week!) to create an interactive slider card.

I concealed the slider channel under the grass and added the boy dinosaur onto the pull tab with a piece of acetate so he moves when the tab is pulled. I created a video sharing how to create this card so you can check it out on the MFT YouTube channel today!

I mention it in the video, but I actually put the slider part on the wrong side of the card so instead of making them kiss when you pull, they kiss when you push it back in LOL! :)

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the January release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 8th at 10am EST.

For my first card today I used the new Heart Tree Die-namics to create a rainbow design with the die cut inlay technique.

I first die cut the tree from white card stock, and then I adhered it over some exposed adhesive on a backing sheet so I could easily add all of the little pieces back in. I then die cut the tree from a bunch of different card stock colours and pieced it all back together.

It did take a bit of time to do since there are so many pieces, but I love the look of it with all of the fun rainbow colours. I stamped a sentiment from the Sweet Celebrations stamp set onto a black sentiment strip and added that to complete the design.

I also used the awesome new Nugget Label, Window & Frame Die-namics to create a snowman themed treat in both a winter design and a Valentine's design. I love our shaker pouches and dies and this newest one is SO FUN! I can't wait to make a million treats with it throughout the year.

Stay tuned to the MFT YouTube channel on Monday... I'll be sharing a video sharing how I created these fun tags!
