My Favorite Things Sketch #370

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest sketch challenge at the My Favorite Things challenge blog. This week's sketch has a heart as the focal element, but I decided to switch my design up and use a butterfly instead.

I stamped the butterfly with three different shades of ink (Peach Bellini, Coral Crush, and Poppy) to create an ombre look on it's wings and then I cut the center out with the smallest Stitched Heart STAX die.

I cut the whole panel with a stitched rectangle and I adhered it to a Peach Bellini card base. I then added the die cut heart back into the opening and added a body that I die cut from Steel Grey card stock using the Flutter of Butterflies Solid dies.

I completed the card by adding some Crystal Glaze to the body of the butterfly and I also added some clear sequins scattered onto the card front.

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Release

Hello and welcome back! Tonight we're sharing cards using the new Yay for You card kit which is available now in the MFT online store.  This kit is so much fun, and it's so great for so many different celebratory occasions.

For my card tonight I used the taller skinnier Yay from the So Many Yays die set and created a large rainbow sentiment for the center area of my card. I created an inked panel with an assortment of rainbow coloured inks, and then I die cut the word. I then die cut the same word from a white card stock panel and inset the coloured letters into the openings.

I stamped, and heat embossed a secondary sentiment onto a black card stock strip and layered that over the rainbow yay with foam adhesive for some added dimension. Before I added that sentiment I did run the whole panel through my die cutting machine with a stitched rectangle die.

I finished the card by adding the panel to a black card base, and I added some clear sequins scattered onto the card front.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the kit and to shop for yours! :)

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back! We're continuing the countdown to the January card kit Yay for You! and today I have a fun shaker card to share.

For this card, I used the Confetti dies, and one of the Yay word dies to cut openings into my card stock panel and then I created little shaker areas under each one.

I wanted a lot of colour on the card front, so I used my mini distress inks and added colour flicks with some water, an acrylic block and a paint brush. I added a secondary sentiment that I had stamped onto a pink card stock strip, and I added the completed panel onto a pink card base.

I also shared how I created this card in today's episode of MFTv so make sure to head to our YouTube channel HERE to see the video if you're interested in seeing how I created it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you tonight for the Yay for You kit release!

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things January card kit countdown. For the next two days, we're sharing cards and counting down to the release of the Yay for You card kit.

For my card today I used the large die cut Yay word and created a fun diagonal pattern by stacking three of them on the card.

I die cut them all from a white panel and then added colour to them with various colours of Distress ink. I created an ombre look with the colour, and then I added some water to give them a distressed look.

Once they were coloured, I inset them back into the main panel and die ut around the outside with a stitched rectangle die.

I added a secondary sentiment stamped onto a black card stock strip and then completed the card with sequins for some added dimension.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using this month's kit. Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Hits & Highlights | January 2018

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a fun project to share for the My Favorite Things January Hits & Highlights post. This month we're featuring the X's and O's card kit (which is still available in limited quantities and on sale!).

I love how quick and easy it is to create fun Valentine treats with the stamps and dies in the kit and decided to make little cards that have a little treat bag attached with the acrylic X's and O's needed to play the game on the card.

To create the card portion I positioned the top and bottom sentiments in my Mini Misti and then I stamped a bunch of them at once with black ink. This makes it go a lot quicker, especially if you're creating a bunch of them for class treats.

Once I had the sentiments stamped, I adhered the tic tac toe board that I had die cut from red card stock and then I added the white panels to red and black card bases sized to fit the width of the treat bags.

I added a panel of silver sparkle card stock into the treat bag for a fun look and then I added in the game pieces before adhering the cards to the top to seal the bags closed. And there is lot's of room on the back of the cards to write a message or the to and from.

You can see more fun ideas using the X's and O's card kit on the MFT blog HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  :)

My Favorite Things January Release Replay

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things Release Replay for January. We're sharing more projects today using the new January release products, and I wanted to mix and match them with an older release to show how great they go with other products.

The From the Heart stamp set has a ton of great sentiment options, and I decided to use one of them with the Mesmerizing Mandala Die-namics to create a traditional pink and red love-themed card.

I used Distress inks to add an ombre of pink and red to the mandala shape, and then I die cut it a second time from a white card stock panel so I could inlay it into the negative space. I added the sentiment stamped onto a white sentiment strip over the middle of the mandala and completed it with some die cut hearts and some clear gems.

I added the finished panel to a red top-folding card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for the January release replay. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more ideas using the January release.

Stitched With Love

Hello and welcome back. In today's post, I'm sharing a couple of cards I created featuring the My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Die-namics. I love adding stitching to my cards, and this die makes it so quick and easy!

For my first card, I diecut the stitching holes twice in a card stock panel to make it bigger and then I created a rainbow pattern with my stitching with a white heart in the center. The panel was the perfect size to add three rows of each of the colours.

Once I had the whole panel stitched, I added a sentiment from the From the Heart stamp set over the stitching on a sentiment strip with foam adhesive. I completed the card with some clear jewels and trimmed it down and added it to a black card base.

For my second card I stitched a heart pattern onto red cardstock with white thread, and then I added pink stitching all around it.

To make the heart stand out, I backstitched around it with red thread, and then I added a white panel over the top with a window opening die cut from it. I stamped a sentiment from the From the Heart stamp set directly on the panel and added the whole panel with a red card base with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more projects from the design team featuring some fun stitching. I also have three more cards to share there along with a video. :)

My Favorite Things Color Challenge 85

Hello and welcome to a new Color Challenge from My Favorite Things. This week's color combination is a blend of blue, orange, red and yellow and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to use the new Monster Sized stamp set.

When I saw the new monster stamps, I immediately wanted to combine the love sentiment in the set with the new Love You Die-namics and have the monster holding one of the letters in the die cut word, and I love how it turned out.

I used my Copic markers and coloured the Love word red and the monster yellow. I added some Summer Splash ink to the background to bring in the blue, and then I stamped the sentiment with the Orange ink to include all of this week's colours in my design.

I adhered both the monster with his letter O and the sentiment banner with foam adhesive and made it look as though the monster is standing on the sentiment banner. I die cut the panel with a Stitched Wonky rectangle, and I adhered it onto a Banana Split card base.

Make sure to head over to the Challenge blog for this week's color palette so you can play along!

Hello and welcome to New Product Launch for the My Favorite Things January Release. All of the products we've been sharing all week are now available at the MFT online store HERE!

I'm so excited to see what's on everyone's must-have lists and cant wait to see what you all create with the new products.

For my project tonight I used the new Marble background stamp, and heat embossed it onto a white card stock panel that I die cut using the Blueprints 27 Die-namics. Once I had it embossed, I added red and pink distress inks going from dark to light to create an ombre effect on the panel.

I used the Stitched Heart Peek-a-Boo Window and die cut a window into the panel, and then I added a heart shaker pouch and one of the new Heart Maze Shapes to create a fun, interactive card.

I added a sentiment strip over the heart element and added some die cut heart and sequins to complete the card design.

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 9th at 9pm EST.

I bet you're not surprised to see more pink and red LOL! I don't usually use traditional colour palettes for Valentine's Day and love-themed projects, but I could not put these two colours down! :)

To make today's card, I first created an ombre inked panel with red distress inks. I started with the darkest red at the bottom and then blended that into a lighter red and lightened it up as I went up towards the left corner of the panel.

I used the Full of Heart Die-namics and die cut it from a white card stock panel to create the open grid of hearts, and then I die cut the whole panel with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2.

I layered the sentiment strip and a strip of both black & white patterned paper and silver sparkle card stock at the bottom of the panel, and then I added some sequins scattered around the card front for some added dimension.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 2 of the December release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 9th at 9pm EST.

This month we have an adorable new Pure Innocence set called Blowing Kisses, and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to do some paper piecing and add some pink sparkle to her dress! :)

I stamped her onto a white card stock panel first with Extreme Black Hybrid ink, and then I coloured her in with Copic markers, with the exception of the bottom of her dress. I stamped her a second time onto Cotton Candy Sparkle Card Stock, and then I used my scissors to cut out the bottom portion of her dress so I could add it to my stamped image.

I stamped the image again onto masking paper and covered my coloured image so I could add the inked hearts to the background with the Staggered Hearts stencil. I added some red die cut hearts and stamped the sentiment in black ink under the image.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 3 of the Janaury release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 9th at 9pm EST.

For my card today I created an almost one-layer card using the new Viking stamp set from Birdie Brown, and I used a LOT of ink and red on this guy LOL! :)

I stamped him first with Extreme Black Hybrid ink onto my white card stock panel, and then I coloured him in with my Copic markers. I used pretty much all pinks and reds to really give him a Valentine's feel. I created a mask of the Viking image and placed it over my coloured image so I could add the bricks in the background with Pumice Stone distress ink and the Small Brick Wall Stencil.

I created the sidewalk at the bottom with distress ink and Copic markers, and I stamped the sentiment directly on the brick background. I finished the card by adding some hearts die cut from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics, and I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the hearts and some of the Viking for shine and dimension.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 4 of the January release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

My Favorite Things January Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things January Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on January 9th at 9pm EST.

Get ready for a whole lot of love this week and lots of pink and red! I had so much fun creating with all of the new stamps and dies, and love is definitely in the air! ;)

For my card today I used the awesome new Raving Raccoons stamp set to create a cute scene with a fun design.

I created a scene on a Stitched Heart by adding cloud detail with the Mini Cloud Edges stencil, and then I added grass along the bottom with the Grassy Hills die and some Twisted Citron distress ink. I stamped the images with our new Extreme Black Hybrid ink (amazing ink formulation!), coloured and die cut the raccoon images and added them onto the heart scene along with a sentiment strip tucked under one of the raccoons.

I added a piece of my favourite MFT patterned paper cut at a diagonal onto the right bottom corner of the panel, and then I adhered the heart on top. I embellished the scene with some red hearts cut from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics, and I added the whole panel to a white card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the January release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them. See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 366

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a winter themed card to share for this week's newest MFT Sketch Challenge.

I love the geometric look of this week's sketch and decided to create a card with absolutely no colour except white and silver sparkle card stock.

I kept my card design the exact same as the sketch and added a trio of stitched squares along the right side of the card. I then added die cut snowflakes to each of the squares keeping the top and bottom the same and then addding a more embellished snowflake to the center.

I completed the card by adding a stamped sentiment in black ink directly onto the white panel that I layered onto to white card base.

Make sure to head over to the challenge blog to see this weeks sketch and enter your card designs for a chance to win a GC to MFT Stamps! :)
