MFT July Hits & Highlights

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the July Hits & Highlights post for My Favorite Things. This month we're continuing the birthday celebration and sharing projects created with the July release.

For my card I used the Cocktail Hour Die-namics along with the A Toast to You stamp set to create a fun and colourful birthday card design.

I die cut all of the pieces from white card stock and then I used my Copic markers to colour them in. I decided to use a rainbow of colours (I know, big surprise right? LOL!) for all of the bottles and glasses and then I coloured the bar cart with shades of grey.

I finished the card with a stamped sentiment strip and I also added some clear sequins for detail and dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

MFT WSC 447

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the latest MFT sketch challenge.

One of my favourite things to do is ink blend with my stencils in rainbow colours, and when I saw this week's sketch, I immediately knew I wanted to use my Drifts and Hills stencil for the wavy lines on the sketch.

I started at the bottom of my panel and added each colour one at a time by ink blending off the edge of the stencil and then letting the ink get lighter as I worked my way up the panel in each color. Once I finished the ink blending, I die cut the word 'HI' using the Impact Alphabet dies and I adhered the panel onto a white card base with foam adhesive.

I stamped a second sentiment onto Black Licorice card stock and white heat embossed it and then I layered it over the die cut sentiment. I finished the card with some clear sequins and added Sprinkled Sugar Stickles to the centers.

Thanks so much for joining me for this week's sketch challenge. Make sure to check it out on the MFT blog and enter your card for a chance to win!

MFT July Release | New Product Launch!

Hello and welcome to the July Release New Product Launch! All of the new products we've been sharing for the past five days are available NOW at My Favorite Things!

For my card today I used the new Drink Up the Sunshine stamp set along with the Swimming Pool Die-namics to create a summer scene complete with a shaker element!

I added brick detail to the background using HIckory Smoke Distress ink and the English Wall Stencil, and then I die cut the pool from the center. I used the same Distress Oxide glaze technique that I shared earlier this week for the water and added the Swimming Pool Shaker pouch and sequins inside the pool.

I love this adorable Birdie Brown image - she looks so cute floating around the pool!

Thanks so much for joining me for July release product launch! Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

MFT July Release Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on July 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today, I used the new Swimming Pool die, along with the new Mermaid for Each Other stamp set to create a fun summer scene.

I used the Distress Oxide Glaze technique to create the pool water and then I die cut the pool shape from a panel of white card stock, letting it go off the right edge. I assembled the scene around it using the Beach Scene Die-namics.

You can see the full how-to video sharing how I created this card on the MFT YouTube channel here.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 1 of the July release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

MFT July Release Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on July 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today, I used the new Magical Rainbow Die-namics along with the new Rainbow Greetings stamp set to create a simple, but colourful design.

I die cut all of the rainbow pieces from white card stock, and then I used my Copic markers to colour them in. I then assembled the rainbow on the back piece and covered the entire thing in a sparkle pen and Glossy Accents to add a lot of sparkle and shine.

I finished the design with a stamped sentiment and some enamel hearts and then I layered the panel onto a card base that I covered with rainbow striped pattterned paper.

MFT July Release Countdown | Day 3

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on July 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I created a colourful rainbow cake using the new Celebrate with Cake Die-namics. This die has so many fun layering elements that can be added to the cake, but I decided to just use one and create a repeated pattern.

I die cut all of the pieces from the new Over the Rainbow paper pad and layered them in rainbow order on the cake. I then die cut the Celebrate topper from Silver Sparkle card stock and added that to the top.

I decided it needed a stamped sentiment, so I used one from the Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set and stamped it directly under the cake. To add a little interest to the cake, I also added clear drops along three rows of the decorative trim. I love the subtle dimension it adds!

MFT July Release Countdown | Day 4

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on July 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today, I used the new Impact Alphabet Die-namics to create a large colourful focal word on my card that I paired with a stamped sentiment from the new Bitty Birthday Wishes stamp set.

Stay tuned for the amazing pattened paper I used to cover each of the letter stacks - it is my new favourite paper pad ever! I layered 4 white die cut letters under the coloured paper and then I added a black die cut letter slightly offset behind each one to give them a shadow effect.

I then added the stamped sentiment banner and adhered the card panel to a Grout Gray card base. I finished the card with a few clear sequins for added detail and dimension.

MFT July Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on July 9th at 10am EDT.

For my card today I used the new Twist & Turn Die-namics along with some older product to create a fun birthday card with a moving wine bottle.

The Twist & Turn Die-namics allows you to easily move one or two images on a card design with a simple mechanism that's hidden behind the main card panel.  You can check out our TouTube channel today for a video that Laura created showing the die in more detail. It looks complicated but it's actually really easy to use!

In the second photo, you can see the wine bottle actually tips to make it look like it's pouring into one of the glasses. For the glasses, I coloured them all with Copic markers and used glossy accents over top to make them look shiny.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the July release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!
