My Favorite Things Sketch #370

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a card to share for the newest sketch challenge at the My Favorite Things challenge blog. This week's sketch has a heart as the focal element, but I decided to switch my design up and use a butterfly instead.

I stamped the butterfly with three different shades of ink (Peach Bellini, Coral Crush, and Poppy) to create an ombre look on it's wings and then I cut the center out with the smallest Stitched Heart STAX die.

I cut the whole panel with a stitched rectangle and I adhered it to a Peach Bellini card base. I then added the die cut heart back into the opening and added a body that I die cut from Steel Grey card stock using the Flutter of Butterflies Solid dies.

I completed the card by adding some Crystal Glaze to the body of the butterfly and I also added some clear sequins scattered onto the card front.

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Release

Hello and welcome back! Tonight we're sharing cards using the new Yay for You card kit which is available now in the MFT online store.  This kit is so much fun, and it's so great for so many different celebratory occasions.

For my card tonight I used the taller skinnier Yay from the So Many Yays die set and created a large rainbow sentiment for the center area of my card. I created an inked panel with an assortment of rainbow coloured inks, and then I die cut the word. I then die cut the same word from a white card stock panel and inset the coloured letters into the openings.

I stamped, and heat embossed a secondary sentiment onto a black card stock strip and layered that over the rainbow yay with foam adhesive for some added dimension. Before I added that sentiment I did run the whole panel through my die cutting machine with a stitched rectangle die.

I finished the card by adding the panel to a black card base, and I added some clear sequins scattered onto the card front.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using the kit and to shop for yours! :)

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Countdown | Day 1

Hello and welcome back! We're continuing the countdown to the January card kit Yay for You! and today I have a fun shaker card to share.

For this card, I used the Confetti dies, and one of the Yay word dies to cut openings into my card stock panel and then I created little shaker areas under each one.

I wanted a lot of colour on the card front, so I used my mini distress inks and added colour flicks with some water, an acrylic block and a paint brush. I added a secondary sentiment that I had stamped onto a pink card stock strip, and I added the completed panel onto a pink card base.

I also shared how I created this card in today's episode of MFTv so make sure to head to our YouTube channel HERE to see the video if you're interested in seeing how I created it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you tonight for the Yay for You kit release!

My Favorite Things January Card Kit Countdown | Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Favorite Things January card kit countdown. For the next two days, we're sharing cards and counting down to the release of the Yay for You card kit.

For my card today I used the large die cut Yay word and created a fun diagonal pattern by stacking three of them on the card.

I die cut them all from a white panel and then added colour to them with various colours of Distress ink. I created an ombre look with the colour, and then I added some water to give them a distressed look.

Once they were coloured, I inset them back into the main panel and die ut around the outside with a stitched rectangle die.

I added a secondary sentiment stamped onto a black card stock strip and then completed the card with sequins for some added dimension.

Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for more ideas using this month's kit. Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Hits & Highlights | January 2018

Hello and welcome back! Today I have a fun project to share for the My Favorite Things January Hits & Highlights post. This month we're featuring the X's and O's card kit (which is still available in limited quantities and on sale!).

I love how quick and easy it is to create fun Valentine treats with the stamps and dies in the kit and decided to make little cards that have a little treat bag attached with the acrylic X's and O's needed to play the game on the card.

To create the card portion I positioned the top and bottom sentiments in my Mini Misti and then I stamped a bunch of them at once with black ink. This makes it go a lot quicker, especially if you're creating a bunch of them for class treats.

Once I had the sentiments stamped, I adhered the tic tac toe board that I had die cut from red card stock and then I added the white panels to red and black card bases sized to fit the width of the treat bags.

I added a panel of silver sparkle card stock into the treat bag for a fun look and then I added in the game pieces before adhering the cards to the top to seal the bags closed. And there is lot's of room on the back of the cards to write a message or the to and from.

You can see more fun ideas using the X's and O's card kit on the MFT blog HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by today.  :)

My Favorite Things January Release Replay

Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things Release Replay for January. We're sharing more projects today using the new January release products, and I wanted to mix and match them with an older release to show how great they go with other products.

The From the Heart stamp set has a ton of great sentiment options, and I decided to use one of them with the Mesmerizing Mandala Die-namics to create a traditional pink and red love-themed card.

I used Distress inks to add an ombre of pink and red to the mandala shape, and then I die cut it a second time from a white card stock panel so I could inlay it into the negative space. I added the sentiment stamped onto a white sentiment strip over the middle of the mandala and completed it with some die cut hearts and some clear gems.

I added the finished panel to a red top-folding card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for the January release replay. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more ideas using the January release.

Stitched With Love

Hello and welcome back. In today's post, I'm sharing a couple of cards I created featuring the My Favorite Things Cross-Stitch Die-namics. I love adding stitching to my cards, and this die makes it so quick and easy!

For my first card, I diecut the stitching holes twice in a card stock panel to make it bigger and then I created a rainbow pattern with my stitching with a white heart in the center. The panel was the perfect size to add three rows of each of the colours.

Once I had the whole panel stitched, I added a sentiment from the From the Heart stamp set over the stitching on a sentiment strip with foam adhesive. I completed the card with some clear jewels and trimmed it down and added it to a black card base.

For my second card I stitched a heart pattern onto red cardstock with white thread, and then I added pink stitching all around it.

To make the heart stand out, I backstitched around it with red thread, and then I added a white panel over the top with a window opening die cut from it. I stamped a sentiment from the From the Heart stamp set directly on the panel and added the whole panel with a red card base with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see more projects from the design team featuring some fun stitching. I also have three more cards to share there along with a video. :)
