My Favorite Things May Release Countdown | Day 5

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the My Favorite Things May Release Countdown. For the next five days, we'll be sharing cards and projects featuring all of the new products coming out on May 8th at 9pm EST.

And stay tuned for the week following each release - we're bringing you even more inspiration and ideas using all of the new products!

For my card today I used the new Basic Shapes - Circles Stencil to create a galaxy card. I have been taking an online watercolor class creating galaxies so when I saw this stencil I was so excited because it's perfect for tracing different sized planets on my paintings!

I used the stencil to trace 3 planets onto a piece of watercolor paper cut to 4" x 5 1/4," and then I painted my galaxy background around all of the circles I had drawn. Once the background was completely dry, I painted my planets and added all the star detail with a white gel pen.

I stamped the sentiment from the Anything-but-Basic Friendship stamp set onto a sentiment banner from the Hearts on a Row - Horizontal die set and I adhered it onto the panel. I layered the finished panel onto a white card base, and then I added it to a Black Licorice card base.

Thanks so much for joining me for Day 5 of the May release countdown. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog for a closer look at the new products and more ideas using them.

See you tomorrow for more countdown fun!
